DESCRIPTION:Speakers: Klemens Noga (ACC Cyfronet AGH)\, Oskar Klimas (ACK
Cyfronet AGH)\, Tomasz Idźkowski (ACK Cyfronet AGH)\, Leszek Grzanka (ACK
Cyfronet AGH)\, Bartosz Soból (ACK Cyfronet AGH)\n\nThe training focuses
on most common tools used in HPC and our AI platform called PLGrid Forge.
\nThis is one of the most important trainings for novice users. The main g
oal is to showcase the basic usage of each tool that can be used to aid in
your research or work.\nLevel\n\nTarget audience\nTraining is intended fo
r users who want to enhance their workflows using at ACC Cyfronet AGH usin
g an assortment of common tools. \nAgenda\nThe training is run in a non-st
andard format - as several staggered parallel Paths (see graphic below). E
ach Path is a training with a different trainer and a Q&A session afterwar
ds lasting an hour total. The trainers are experts in the use of a particu
lar tool and are going to demonstrate the use of tool and go through examp
les with participants. The Paths will be running in separate rooms on the
Zoom platform within the same call. The Paths are parallel which means tha
t some of the Paths are running at the same time as others. To minimize th
e overlap\, they are also staggered in such a way that the main parts with
demonstrations are never at the same time. \nThe participants start in th
e main room of the call on the "Intro" Path. It introduces each of the too
ls\, their common uses and how to access them\, but does not cover practic
al examples. After the "Intro" Path\, the same trainer will run the last P
ath in the main room.\nParticipants can move from the main room to any roo
m that is currently open and switch between the rooms without notifying th
e trainers or TAs. Regardless of Paths chosen in the registration form\, d
uring the training participants can join any of the Paths as long as they
 are open.\n\n \nPaths:\n\n"Intro" Path\n\nIntroduction - briefly describi

 GH. \nSummary of prerequisites\n\nPLGrid account\,\nactive affiliation\,\n
accepting invitation to resources at least a day before training starts\,\
nattending the Dry-run\,\ncomputer equipped with SSH connection.\n\nPLGrid
Account\nSpecify your PLGrid username in the registration form. If you do
n't have an account\, please follow one of our guides: * https://guide.plg
 rid.pl/en/portal-for-science/profile\,* https://guide.plgrid.pl/en/portal-
for-business/account.\nAffiliation\n\nCheck status or activate at https://
 portal.plgrid.pl/users/affiliations. \nAny researcher affiliated with a Po
lish academic or scientific institution can access these resources free of
charge. The process to obtain an affiliation is fast and can be done thro
ugh PLGrid Portal alone. \nFor participants from industry\, business\, and
commercial entities without an active commercial affiliation\, to speed u
p the activation process\, please contact us at training@cyfronet.pl. We w
ill grant you a short-lived affiliation for training purposes.\nThis cours
e is co-funded by the European Union. Therefore\, the course is open for p
articipants from academia\, industry\, and public administration from the
Member States (MS) of the European Union (EU) and Associated/Other Countri
es to the Horizon Europe programme.\nIn case you have problems\, obtaining
an affiliation\, please contact the organizers at training@cyfronet.pl. \
n\nInvitation to resources\n\nCouple of days before the training\, Trainin
g Team will be sending invitations to resources in PLGrid Portal at https:
 //portal.plgrid.pl/training_invitations.\nAccepting the invitation allows
users to use the resources of the training grant. \nMake sure to activate
all the required services too (they are listed on the page of the invitati
on). Use "participation in a training" as motivation if need be.\n\nDry-ru
 n\n\nOn 26th Oct 2026 at 10:00-11:00 CET\, a Dry-run will be held. Attenda
nce will be marked based on Zoom participant list. \nParticipants will lea
rn how to log in to the Ares supercomputer before the training and resolve
any problems with the Training Team. \nIn case you cannot come to the dry
-run\, please inform us directly at training@cyfronet.pl\, otherwise your
registration will be cancelled. \nPlease attend the dry-run even if your a
ffiliation is not active.\n\nSSH connection\nParticipants' computers shoul
d be equipped with software that allows SSH connections. On Windows\, it i
s recommended to use Windows Terminal (not to be confused with Powershell
after checking if OpenSSH is installed (run ssh -V in the terminal). We ad
vise against using Putty.\nVenue\nThe workshop will be conducted online on
the Zoom platform. The meeting link will be sent to registered participan
 ts.\nLanguage\nEnglish\nDuration\n3 hours\nRegistration and eligibility\nT
he Registration and the Waiting list close automatically at 23:59 CEST on
22nd Oct 2026. The Registration may close prematurely if the limit number
of participants is hit beforehand\, but the Waiting List will be available
until the deadline above.\nPlease use your institution's e-mail address.
Registrations using generic or private email addresses cannot be accepted.
At that e-mail address\, you will be contacted with further information.\

open for participants from academia\, industry\, and public administratio
n from the Member States (MS) of the European Union (EU) and Associated/Ot
her Countries to the Horizon Europe programme.\nParticipants register for
the entire event and can specify in what Paths they are interested in. Reg
ardless of Paths chosen in the registration form\, during the training par
ticipants can join any of the Paths as long as they are open.\nOrganized b
