The event includes a series of training courses related to the use of supercomputers and the application of artificial intelligence methods:
Inference using Cyfronet Forge
This training introduces Cyfronet Forge, an LLM inference service deployed on Cyfronet supercomputers. The platform allows users to access large language models (such as Bielik or Llama) via an OpenAI-compatible API. It simplifies the setup of an inference environment and provides monitoring of usage and accounting. During this session, you are going to learn how to apply for this resource, generate an API token, and use it in basic examples with Python. The training will also cover more complex hands-on exercises using the Cyfronet Forge service. The course is intended for PLGrid users who want to start using LLMs without the complicated setup.
Technical prerequisites:
* PLGrid account at https://portal.plgrid.pl/;
* an active affiliation at https://portal.plgrid.pl/users/affiliations;
* access to the Ares supercomputer,
* if a participant has access, no further action,
* if not, one needs to apply at https://portal.plgrid.pl/services/103, and the access will be granted when joining the team (see below),
* participants are not required to have their own grant allocations;
* access to JupyterHubHPC, apply at https://portal.plgrid.pl/services/110;
* membership in the "plggtraining" team - the activation link will be sent after registration.
The above prerequisites are required to actively participate in the hands-on exercises.
In the absence of an active affiliation or PLGrid account, please contact the organisers at training@cyfronet.pl.
Participants' computers should have SSH client software installed. On Windows, it is recommended to use Windows Terminal after checking if OpenSSH is installed. We advise against using Putty.

Containers as a self-contained environment for HPC
Containers enable portable, reproducible, and isolated environments in HPC. This training introduces the practical use of Apptainer at Cyfronet, enabling container use without privileged access. You are going to build, deploy, and run containerised workloads, and learn best practices for using containers with MPI and GPUs. The session will also cover how to pull Docker containers from external repositories and convert them into Apptainer images. The course is intended for researchers and professionals who want to transfer their containerised workflows to HPC or to create a portable, reproducible, HPC-ready environment with containers.
High-Performance Data Analytics with Python
This training introduces High-Performance Data Analytics (HPDA) through interactive Jupyter notebook exercises. You will learn how to use Python with libraries such as Pandas and Dask for efficient large-scale data analysis. The course explains the fundamentals of High-Performance Computing (HPC) and High-Throughput Computing (HTC), showing how both support scalable data processing and performance optimisation. It is intended for researchers, engineers, and data scientists aiming to accelerate their analytics workflows.
The training events are conducted onsite, at the conference venue.
Enrollment will be available via the registration form as soon as registration for the event opens. Enrollment limits apply.
