Description

The second round of the Cracov workshop will focus on a detailed analysis of pilots’ use cases and user stories to address challenges in resource interoperability and composability. Participants will collaborate to identify technical requirements and explore standards for developing a proof of concept that integrates diverse resources into a functional, unified environment. Federated discovery and access mechanisms will also be examined to enhance user activity and interest.

Expected outcomes include:

  • A roadmap for key user stories and their implementation.
  • Early PoCs developed during mini-hackathons to validate concepts.
  • Clear definitions of federated capabilities for user stories.
  • A functional specification for a federated catalogue to support these solutions

        • Pilot node user story NFDI 25m

As a researcher (photon scientist) I want to use the compute infrastructure provided by the EGI node with data I found in the NFDI data catalogue.

        • Pilot node user story MetroFOOD 25m

As a food chemist, I want to compare the nutritional profiles of plant-based food products grown in different European regions using a standardized metrology framework, so that I can assess geographical variations in nutrient density and potential contaminants.

        • Pilot node user story CESSDA 25m

As a social scientist, I want to use the same instrument/scale for my research that was used in other similar research projects, to be able to compare data easier later.

        • Pilot node user story NI4OS 25m

As a regional computational physicist, I want to manage my codes in a repository, run simulations on HPC resources, and analyse data with appropriate services, so that I can streamline my workflow despite its complexity.

        • Pilot node user story Lifewatch ERIC 25m

As a researcher, I want to analyse biodiversity patterns, focusing on the presence and distribution of alien species across different ecosystems. To achieve this, I need a service that allows for the integration, cleaning, and analysis of biodiversity data, ensuring consistency in taxonomic identification and alien species classification.

        • Pilot node user story Instruct ERIC 25m

As a small facility, I would like to manage user data on behalf of the researcher. I would like to store the user’s raw and processed data in the cloud, the data will be made available to other researchers.
As a provider of services and data, I would like to make that available and bookable via one or more external catalogues.
