Description

The European Open Science Cloud (EOSC) is designed to simplify access to scientific data and collaborative tools across diverse scientific fields and national borders. As a significant element of the open science initiative, the EOSC facilitates transparent and accessible scientific research, aiming to foster innovation and collaboration. This presentation highlights the personal and practical challenges researchers and other key players in the scientific community face in their daily work, illustrated through their individual stories. The insights shared are grounded in comprehensive UX research and business analysis of the EOSC ecosystem, which has provided the essential data for this discussion. It outlines common issues such as difficulties in accessing data, the integration of various research tools, and the complexities of fostering effective collaborations. By presenting personal experiences alongside systemic challenges, this presentation aims to promote a realistic and inclusive approach to advancing open science, helping individuals connected to science in various ways to recognize and reflect on their own challenges and aspirations.
