Description
This paper discusses the tailored Knowledge Base (KB) of policies and contextual materials regarding Open Access to academic books in the European Research Area (https://knowledgebase.oabooks-toolkit.org) set on DSpace environment during the PALOMERA (Policy Alignment of Open Access Monographs in the European Research Area) project, funded by Horizon Europe. Academic books are defined here as scholarly, peer-reviewed, books including monographs, book chapters, edited collections, critical editions, and other long-form scholarly works. KB makes available in a structured form the qualitative and quantitative data on the OA book policy landscape in Europe, collected from 39 ERA countries (e.g.: data collected through desk study research, survey results and anonymized transcripts of interviews). The presentation will discuss the methodology behind the KB, as well as the resources available in the database and its sustainability, particularly in constructing deliberation tools and building KBs focused on open science in Social Sciences and Humanities.
